Improvement of Turkmen – Russian Inter-Parliamentary relations was the subject of the telephone conversation between Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan G. Mammedova and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation V. Matvienko. The Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation noted that the CIS international observers gave high appraisal to the recent elections of the Mejlis deputies, members of the People’s councils and Gengeshys in our country and invited the Speaker of National Parliament to participate in the 47th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS members. It was also noted that recently, the cooperation between our countries are filled with new content. Special importance in dynamic development of interstate dialog is paid to regular high-level contacts and meetings, which support comprehensive improvement of Turkmen – Russian relations. At the same time, mutual interest of the sides in continuation of the practice of inter-Parliamentary contacts, which proved itself very well, and beneficial exchange of the practice in law-making activity on regular base has been expressed. In this context, the Head of Upper Chamber of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation highlighted the role of the efforts of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the development of close cooperation under the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
