The official welcome ceremony was held for the Turkmen leader at Kuksaroy State Residence in Tashkent. Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev were photographed against the state flags of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Then the heads of state inspected the Guard of Honor at the square in front of the residence, and introduced to each other the members of the Government delegations of the two countries. Heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Uzbekistan were also introduced to the Turkmen leader. Then the Presidents of the two countries proceeded to the Kuksaroy State Residence where they held Turkmen-Uzbek one-on-one high-level talks. The dialog between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan builds on the strong potential for cooperation, long-standing good-neighborly relations, historical and cultural ties. The sides remain committed to further strengthen the constructive interstate political dialog, scale up the mutually beneficial commercial and economic partnership and deepen fruitful humanitarian and cultural contacts. The current talks will continue in expanded format involving members of official delegations of the two countries, and will be followed by signing of a considerable package of bilateral documents.
