Large Textile Plant to Be Built in Babadayhan District of Ahal Province

The President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution authorizing the Ministry of Textile Industry to conclude a contract with Cotam Enterprises Ltd. (British Virgin Islands) to design and build in the district of Babadayhan of the province of Ahal of a textile plant equipped with advanced machinery, with an annual capacity of 3300 tons of fine-fibred yarn (compact penye, non-fluffy); 20 million square meters of high-quality sewing fabric including 18 million square meters of dyed fabric; and 3.5 million items of ready-made garments; to improve the surrounding territory; to build external engineering networks and facilities; to train specialists; and to deliver at the company’s expense the spare parts for supplied technological equipment within two years from the commissioning of the textile plant. The document prescribes to begin construction works in May 2018 and commission the textile plant fully ready for operation in May 2021.
