At the session of the Government on June 8, the Head of the State noted consolidating importance of the Day of Science marked in the country on June 12. The President noted that dynamic development of the economy in close relation with scientific achievements based on innovations and technologies as well as on successful implementation of national and state programmes aimed at mid- and long-term perspectives are strategic directions of the state policy. Utmost attention is paid to the improvement of scientific, engineering and technical potential of the society. Taking into account the development of the world’s states, the Head of the State continued, we have created the conditions for modernization of fundamental and reliable base of science, for improvement of its equipment and facilities base supporting by this to the improvement of scientific, engineering and technical capabilities of the country. The State renders steadfast support for mastering of new knowledge and advanced practice in innovations and technologies sphere, wide implementation of modern developments, latest scientific achievements and discoveries made by specialists, engineers, technologists and scientists to the economy for activation of international cooperation in this direction. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that according to the Programme of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in 2018 – 2024, the role of our country in the development of global economy would be steadily enhanced, innovative industrial facilities producing various competitive, quality goods, which are on high demand in internal and foreign markets, would be established. Studies made by scientific institutes and universities of Turkmenistan, improvement of all branches of national economy, digitalization of science systems and education would support the solution of social and economic issues, the President said. Close relation of modern science and education with economic, cultural and technical development of the countries is important term for establishment of peace and friendly relations. Therefore, we improve and expand the partnership with competent foreign organizations and scientific centres in science and innovative technologies spheres, support the consolidation of scientific and technical cooperation with different countries and big international structures, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted. At the same time, the Head of the State noted that we pay great attention to joint studies in such priority directions as nano and chemical technologies, new materials, energy, biotechnologies, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology and genetics, information and communication systems, computer technologies, production of modern medicine, innovative economy and humanitarian sciences. Restoring the Silk Road, Turkmenistan brings the East and the West, Asia and Europe, people living on these continents together on the principles of peace, friendship, humanity, mutual respect and equal rights, the Head of Turkmenistan stated. The President expressed the confidence that in XXI, Turkmenistan, which used to be important link, the centre of science and knowledge of this transnational route in Eurasian space for centuries, would turn into the bridge connecting scientific, art and technical capabilities of the world community.
