Telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place. Having warmly greeted each other, the leaders of two countries stated with delight steadfast dynamics of interstate dialog, which resting on primordial friendship and good neighbourliness is filled with new content every year. During the conversation, which had trustful character, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed the gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the congratulation on prestigious award of the Asian Pacific Broadcasting Union. Taking the opportunity, Turkmen leader has also expressed the gratitude for the meeting ceremony and cordial reception of Turkmen delegation in Uzbek city of Termez on their way to the Republic of Tajikistan. The Head of the State noted that we declared this year as “Turkmenistan – the Heart of the Great Silk Road”. Historical territory of our country is the heart of this ancient caravan route, which is restored under new conditions these days. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that we hold various events including the Days of Culture and other cultural events under this slogan. The messengers of Turkmenistan who went to Tajikistan via Uzbekistan have responsible mission to support the improvement of fruitful humanitarian contacts between fraternal neighbouring nations, having demonstrated the richness of national historical and cultural heritage. Having focused on priority subjects of interstate cooperation, the interlocutors highlighted that Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan entered new level of relations. This is visually indicated by important agreements aimed at the achievement of certain results as well as by bilateral Agreement of strategic partnership signed in Ashgabat last year. At the same time, the presence of significant potential for further accumulation of productive cooperation in various branches of the economy, transport and communication sphere and number of other directions, particularly in agricultural sector, has been noted. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that agricultural equipment made in Uzbekistan, which Turkmenistan is planning to buy, has recommended itself very well in soil and climate conditions of our country. The sides have also exchanged the opinions on topical issues of regional and global agenda that present mutual interest, having confirmed the commitment of the neighbouring states to constructive dialog in the format of competent international organizations for provision of global peace, security and sustainable development. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to pay official visit to Turkmenistan. The invitation was accepted with the gratitude. Time of the visit will be coordinated via diplomatic channels. In the end of telephone conversation, the Heads of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan expressed the confidence that traditional friendly interstate relations would grow stronger and develop successfully, having wished health and success to each other and wealth and prosperity to fraternal nations of both countries.
