President of Turkmenistan and President of Moldova discuss priorities of the interstate dialogue

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, who arrived in our country to take part in the meeting of the CIS Heads of State. The positive dynamics of the dialogue between Turkmenistan and Moldova in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres was underlined during the meeting. Expressing gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the cordial welcome, the distinguished guest reaffirmed the commitment of the Republic of Moldova to enhance the partnership with Turkmenistan that pursues the constructive foreign policy, which was widely supported and recognized by the world community. The President of Moldova expressed gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the personal contribution to strengthening the bilateral cooperation. Thanking for the kind words, the President of Turkmenistan expressed the willingness to continue implementing joint promising projects in various spheres. Underlining the important role of the two states with favorable geographical positions in the development of transport corridors on the Eurasian continent, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized the significance of this factor in the intensification of Turkmenistan’s economic relations with the countries of Southern and Eastern Europe and the establishment of transport corridors through the Caspian and the Black Sea regions. The President of Turkmenistan and his guest discussed the wide spectrum of issues of the partnership between Turkmenistan and Moldova. Expressing satisfaction with the successive dynamics of the interstate dialogue, the President of Turkmenistan and the President of Moldova underlined the efficient character of cooperation between the two states in frames of authoritative international organizations and structures. The leaders of the two states emphasized the significant role of the Interstate Turkmen-Moldavian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in diversifying the partnership. Speaking about the importance of humanitarian ties, the Presidents of the two countries called for the development of bilateral contacts in the fields of science, education and culture. Tourism and sports were specified among the promising areas for cooperation. The leaders of the two states exchanged views on a number of important issues of the regional and international policy that are of particular interests for Turkmenistan and Moldova. In conclusion of the meeting, the leaders of the two states wished each other good health and success, and peace and prosperity to the peoples of Turkmenistan and Moldova and expressed belief in the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Moldova. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Moldova to statutory and other bodies of the CIS Victor Sorochan attended the meeting.
