President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov takes part in the Turkic Council Video Summit

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov participated in an extraordinary summit of the Turkic Council held in a format of videoconference. The summit, initiated by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Cooperation Council for Turkic-speaking states, Ilham Aliyev, focused on fight against coronavirus pandemic. The videoconference brought together the leaders of six states – Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, as well as the Prime Minister of Hungary and Secretary General of the Turkic Council and WHO Director General. The Presidents discussed the measures taken at the national level to combat coronavirus pandemic, develop multilateral cooperation in healthcare sphere and address the problems caused by COVID-19 outbreak in the region. The summit participants discussed the ways to overcome the negative impact on the global economy caused by the infection.
