For further reformation of agricultural industry of the country, increment of volumes of agricultural production, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution on Production of rice in Turkmenistan in 2020. According to the document, it is planned to produce 82,400 tons of rice – 35,000 tons from 8,100 hectares in Dashoguz Velayat and 47,400 tons from 10,200 hectares in Lebap Velayat. The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection, administrations of Dashoguz and Lebap velayats are assigned to provide planned production of rice in S. Turkmenbashy etrap, Dashoguz Velayat and Darganata, Dyanew, Charjev, Farab, Sayat, Khalach, Hojambaz, Kerky, Dovletly and Koytendag etraps of LebapVelayat.
