Representatives of Turkmenistan are currently taking part in the G-Global. The World of the 21^st Century International Congress, co-organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid, the BBC World News, etc. Among those participating in the forum are heads of international financial organizations and large businesses, world class experts and practitioners, Nobel Prize winners, former heads of state and government, and others. The main focus of the meeting is on new ways of promoting sustainable economic and trade growth, financial development, and building the capacity of cities as international centers of knowledge and innovation. The meeting is expected to culminate in a proposed set of recommendations by leading experts for tackling new challenges of today. In this context, of particular importance to the Congress participants are President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s initiatives that seek to strengthen peace and enhance understanding on the planet, to expand and deepen fruitful international cooperation for common prosperity and progress. On September 12, 2019, the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted the Resolution declaring 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust initiated by our country and co-authored by 73 UN member-states. The Resolution recognizes the great importance of preventive diplomacy consistently and vigorously pursued by the Turkmen state. As a keen player in the international arena, our country is taking an active position and a forward-looking approach to work towards balanced solutions to today’s pressing problems that can directly affect the future of humanity.
