The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the 19th Ministerial Conference of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) held in the videoconference format. The Turkmen delegation, headed by the Minister of Finance and Economy as the National Coordinator in CAREC, included representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Central Bank, the State Committee on Statistics and the Institute of State, Law and Democracy. Representatives from development partners were invited to take part in the ministerial conference “People-Centered Regional Cooperation in the Post-COVID Environment”. The President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the country that chairs CAREC this year, the President of the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank addressed the forum participants. The conference provided a platform to discuss the importance of regional cooperation to restore economic stability, support economic growth, and create jobs, as well as macroeconomic prospects for CAREC member countries in the post-COVID environment. The participants in the videoconference meeting endorsed CAREC Tourism Strategy 2030, CAREC Gender Strategy 2030, and the CAREC Programme Results Framework. The Joint Ministerial Statement was adopted on the outcomes of the 19th Ministerial Conference of Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation. The parties underlined the progress in the implementation of the CAREC Strategy 2030, reaffirmed their commitment to regional cooperation in order to address new issues and implement the existing economic potential.
