On December 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a video-conference meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank and ADB Director General for Central and West Asia Werner Liepach to discuss issues of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Project implementation. During the meeting, the sides emphasized the effectiveness of the long-standing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Asian Development Bank, in particular in the energy and transport sectors, and in the fields of private sector support and investment partnership. The meeting participants noted Turkmenistan’s commitment to promoting transport and transit traffic between countries, which is particularly important in terms of global economic recovery. Discussions revolved around the joint implementation of the North-South Railway Project, and partnership in the electric power industry.
