President of Turkmenistan signs the Resolution on silk worm cocoon production

In order to further develop the silkworm industry, as well as increase the volume and improve the quality of silkworm cocoons, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution instructing the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection and velayat khyakimliks to ensure the production of 2,100 tons of silkworm cocoons in 2021, in particular 155 tons in Ahal velayat, 25 tons in Balkan velayat, 500 tons in Dashoguz velayat, 1.010 tons in Lebap velayat, 410 tons in Mary velayat.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection was instructed to conclude agreements with velayat khyakimliks on the production of silkworm cocoons, as well as to provide peasant associations in the regions, agricultural enterprises, farms, tenants and landowners with the necessary volumes of high-quality silkworm grains.

Velayat khyakimliks are instructed to ensure the implementation of contractual obligations in accordance with the Resolution.
