The country plans to produce 2 thousand 3 hundred tons of silkworm cocoons in 2022

In order to successfully address the problems of developing the sericulture industry in the period “Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State”, as well as increasing the quantity and improving the quality of silkworm cocoons produced, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree instructing the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Preservation and the khyakimliks of velayats to ensure the production of 2 thousand 3 hundred tons of silkworm cocoons in 2022, including 300 tons in the Akhal Velayat, 50 tons in the Balkan Velayat, 500 tons in the Dashoguz Velayat, 1010 tons in the Lebap Velayat, and 440 tons in the Mary Velayat.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Preservation was instructed to conclude general agreements with the velayat khyakimliks for the production of silkworm cocoons, as well as to provide farmers’ associations of velayats, agricultural enterprises, farms, tenants and landowners with the necessary amount of high-quality silkworm eggs.

The khyakimliks of velayats are instructed to ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations in full in accordance with this Decree.
