Clearly following the policy of “open doors” and international cooperation implemented by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, independent neutral Turkmenistan puts forward progressive initiatives and takes active part in the efforts of the world community to address pressing issues of our time, ensure global peace and security, and create favorable conditions for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals on a regional and global scale.

The last month of the past year was full of international events. The meetings, negotiations, forums held in December in bilateral and multilateral formats serve as a clear confirmation that independent Turkmenistan, following the policy of “open doors” pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is playing an increasingly active role in addressing topical issues of regional and global development.

Comprehensive development of trade in Turkmenistan and increasing the role of the private sector through widespread introduction of modern market mechanisms are among the priority areas of the progressive socio-economic policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Diverse events of the past month - numerous working meetings, political consultations, business negotiations and forums held as part of the implementation of the "open door" policy initiated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, became another clear evidence of further strengthening the role of Turkmenistan in the system of international coordinates.

Special importance in the socio-economic strategy of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is attached to the rational use of water resources as an important factor in dynamic development of the agro-industrial complex, environment preservation, and improving the social and living standards of the people of Turkmenistan.

The past month, in which the country celebrated its main holiday - Independence Day, was marked by traditionally high socio-political and business activity, especially in the field of international relations, as evidenced by the numerous and diverse events held as part of the “open door” policy.

As you know, the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly opened in New York in September. The development of fruitful cooperation with the UN is invariably one of the priority vectors of the foreign policy of the Motherland, based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness, good neighborliness and constructive cooperation. This is confirmed by the strategic nature of the long-term dialogue with the UN, built on a systematic basis.

A large number of working meetings, negotiations, political consultations, international forums, seminars, exhibitions, cultural and other events that took place in our Homeland last month in the context of the open door policy, being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, were another illustration of the commitment of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan to a broad interstate dialogue for general wellbeing, security and sustainable development.

The formation of a patriotic, highly educated, erudite, physically and morally healthy, intelligent young generation is one of the strategic tasks for the development of Turkmenistan in the Epoch of the Revival of a new era of a powerful state, clearly identified by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The priority tasks set by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the trade complex include the development of international trade and economic relations, increasing the production of import-substituting products, strengthening the country's food security, improving trade services provided through a digital system, etc.
