President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on behalf of the people and Government of Turkmenistan, as well as on his own behalf, sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to the President of the Slovak Republic Ms. Zuzana Čaputová and the people of the country on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Slovak Republic.
Today, the people of independent neutral Turkmenistan enthusiastically and solemnly welcome the New Year, 2023, destined to continue the chronicle of the glorious deeds of the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state.
At the 17th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Rabat (Kingdom of Morocco), it was unanimously decided to include the nomination Turkmen embroidery proposed by our country in the Representative List of the Intangible Heritage of UNESCO.
The history of the Turkmen people’s culture knows 72 musical instruments, which at different times enjoyed wide popularity. Some of them have been preserved to this day, and others gradually fell out of use. One of these instruments, the dutar, is still very popular in Turkmenistan.
As is known, traditional carpet weaving is an integral part of the socio-cultural life of Turkmenistan and is considered a sign of the general cultural identity of the country’s population. The Turkmen carpet has been carried through the ages, reflecting the history and spiritual and moral values of the people in its ornaments.
The folk dance "Kushtdepdi" is a special part of the culture. Kushtdepdi is a vivid and figurative evidence of how the worldview of the Turkmen people has evolved. Its spiritual component was enriched, involving in the world of expressive choreography, combining the aesthetics of folk dance and ritual eclecticism, it carries a powerful life-affirming message, uniting history and modernity.
The literary monument-epos and the historical personality of Gyorogly showed interest all over the world and Europe, and it does not fade even today.
Historians, cultural figures and literary critics from ancient sources and manuscripts were well aware of the existence of the Parthian state. However, authentic evidence and archaeological finds as a result of excavations carried out by expeditions led by M.E. Masson, demonstrated to the whole world how majestic the buildings of the capital of the state of Parthia, Ancient Nisa, really were.
Now the city of Kunyaurgench is the administrative center of the Kunyaurgench etrap of the Dashoguz velayat of Turkmenistan. And from the XI century. according to the thirteenth century it was the capital of a large medieval empire, the State of Khorezmshahs.
Today, Turkmenistan systematically carries out large-scale work to preserve historical and cultural values, which are an integral part of world civilization.
