Last week, 18 transactions were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

The 111th regular meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) was held today at the Ýyldyz Hotel in the capital.

An important agricultural campaign—the cotton harvest—has begun in Turkmenistan. At the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on 28 August, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved 9 September as the start date of the “white harvest.” With the blessing of the Head of State, farmers in all the velayats of the country began harvesting cotton simultaneously on that day.

Last week, 22 transactions were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

Mass sowing of winter wheat began in Turkmenistan on September 2. As previously reported, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov adjusted the start date for sowing during the regular Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on August 28.
