By a Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, Vice Chairman of “Turkmengas” State Concern Myrat Gurbandurdyevich Archaev has been appointed Acting Minister of State of Turkmenistan – Acting Chairman of “Turkmengas” State Concern.

During extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers held on April 5 and dedicated to the outcomes of social and economic development of Turkmenistan for the first quarter of the year, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov outlined objectives for further reformation of economic system of the country, modernization of production sphere, development of market relations, support of private sector and attraction of domestic entrepreneurs to realization of innovative projects in industry.

For foreign currency businessmen from Russia bought motor gasoline manufactured at Turkmenbashi oil refineries complex and businessmen from Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan - straight-run gasoline, motor gasoline, diesel fuel (SOR).

The President of Turkmenistan has signed a Decree approving the Turkmen side’s composition of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Korean Commission for Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technological Cooperation.

Businessmen from Great Britain, Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates, Afghanistan and other countries purchased hydro-treated diesel fuel, aviation and lighting kerosene, base oil produced by Turkmenbashy Refinery Complex and Russian entrepreneurs procured fine-grained potassium chloride for foreign currency. Besides, cotton purified oil, wheat, various one-coloured and jacquard terry items, cotton yarn, cotton fibre, regenerated fibre, cotton lint were sold for foreign currency. The counties buying these items were Russia, Great Britain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Singapore, UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan. Total amount of transactions exceeded 50 866 000 US dollars.

Farmers of Dashoguz velayat started cotton sowing, where, according to climatic conditions, the sowing season is traditionally started later than in other regions. Traditionally, the beginning of sowing campaign was blessed by honorable elders, who threw the first seeds into the ground, and then gave way to the machine operators. On this occasion exhibitions of agricultural machinery and products of processing enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Turkmenistan were organized.
