The second meeting of the foreign ministers in Central Asia – China format has been held in Chinese Xian on May 12, the site of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan informs.

The meeting of Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chairman of the Supreme Control Chamber of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov with member of the State Council of the PRC, Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been held under the visit of the government delegation of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China in Xian on May 10.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in ecological action, having started cycling race timed to the 140th anniversary of Turkmen capital.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed condolences to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov over the tragedy at school No. 175 in Kazan, which caused many casualties, most of which were children, as well as injuries.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference working session with participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of the regions and Ashgabat. Social and economic issues, course of agricultural campaigns as well as preparation to holidays have been reviewed at the session.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in flower laying ceremony to the monument of “People’s Memory” memorial complex.

COVID-19 vaccine, CoronaVac, developed by the Chinese company Sinovac, was delivered to Turkmenistan. As a result of clinical trials in several countries around the world, this vaccine has proved its high efficiency and safety.

Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Le Yucheng, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, the delegation of our country was sent to the city of Xi'an, People's Republic of China from May 9 to 12, 2021 to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and the PRC, as well as to participate in the next meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in the Central Asia-China format.

In order to further develop bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the People's Republic of China, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution appointing the heads of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation and its subcommittees from the Turkmen side.
