President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani launched new infrastructure facilities, namely, Akina-Andkhoy railway, built in Afghanistan at the expense of the Turkmen side, a power line and two fiber-optic communication lines.

On January 14, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who has come on a working trip to Lebap region, held offsite extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Ruhiyet Palace. Life activity of the State have been reviewed and drafts of some documents have been reviewed at the session.

In accordance with the ""Programme for the development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan for the period up to 2030"", in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of oil products to institutions, enterprises, public associations, individual entrepreneurs and the population, as well as to successfully fulfill tasks for their most efficient use, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution, approving the volumes of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel and jet fuel for domestic consumers in 2021.

On January 13, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held video conference session with participation of some Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of Ahal and Dashoguz Regions as well as the Minister of the Education.

President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping addressed a letter to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the appointment of Mr. Qian Naicheng as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has extended his deep condolences to President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo following the Sriwijaya Air passenger airplane crash that claimed many lives.

On January 8, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a briefing by Head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat Natalya Drozd with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps and the mass media, faculty members of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

On January 8, a working meeting was held with the Representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Turkmenistan at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.
