To pursue the objectives of maximal harnessing of Turkmenistan’s geoeconomic potential by establishing multifunctional transport and transit corridors and by strengthening the role of the private sector in the country’s national economy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution authorizing the Türkmen Awtoban closed joint stock company, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan – the customer and the general contractor – to design and construct the Ashgabat–Turkmenabat highway and its facilities, to improve the surrounding territory, and to manage the site.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where the subjects of the state economic and social policy have been discussed, new projects and other utmost issues of implementation of national programmes have been reviewed and number of documents have been adopted.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made working trip to Ahal Velayat where he inspected the construction of major facility of fuel and energy complex of the country – the plant for production of gasoline from natural plant, which is under construction in Owadandepe.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held offsite working session with the participation of the members of the State Security Council and inspected the situation at the facilities of Administration Department of the Ministry of Interior.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made working trip around the capital and inspected the projects of further architectural and infrastructural development of the city prepared under investment and construction programme at the request of the Hyakim of Ashgabat.

New Year greetings and wishes of happiness and prosperity to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and to Turkmen people were addressed by President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad and his spouse, President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkisyan, Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the Türksoy Secretary general Dyusen Kaseyinov, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, State Advisor of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian Federation M. Shaimiyev, family member of the sheikhs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Faisal Bin Naser Bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held first video conference session in 2019 where Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers who supervises agricultural sector as well as hyakims of the velayats took part.
