In order to identify, select and encourage talented creative figures who, through their excellent works, reflect the large-scale great reforms currently being successfully carried out in the country, the 36^th anniversary of sacred independence and the historical significance of permanent neutrality, the high world fame of the Fatherland, our national cultural heritage and original values, as well as with the aim of enriching Turkmen literature with major works and further developing national art, the President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution on the announcement of a competition among literary, cultural, artistic figures and other people engaged in creativity, as well as amateur young performers and gifted children for the Prize of the President of Turkmenistan «Türkmeniň Altyn asyry».

According to the document, the competition winners will be determined according to established nominations. In addition, the competition also includes a television competition for amateur young performers, «Ýaňlan, Diýarym!», a competition for dutarists and bagshy musicians, «Çalsana, bagşy!», and a competition for gifted children, «Garaşsyzlygyň merjen däneleri».
