At the meeting of the Government devoted to the results of January 2018 the Deputy Prime Minister Myradov G. informed that according to the total volume of products produced, the growth compared to the same period of last year amounted to 3.8 percent. In general, high results were achieved in the sectors of the national economy. Within the established limits, prices for consumer goods and services rendered to the population are preserved.

The Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on the implementation of the project on the construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission lines was signed between the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and Çalyk Holding A.Ş in Ashgabat.

The International Exhibition of Industrial Products, Equipment and Modern Technologies, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, started its work in Ashgabat. The specialized exhibition is intended to demonstrate the significant achievements and perspective directions of the national economy along the path of innovative development, as well as best practices and developments of foreign manufacturers interested in long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmen partners.

Steadily following the course of fundamental reforms, Turkmenistan has entered new stage of its history in 2017, which was formulated by the President of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov as a period of steadfast development and further successful implementation of large-scale reforms.

Past week at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan 29 transactions were registered.

The GDP growth rate in the industrial sector made up 5.5 percent, in the construction sector – 1.3 percent, in the transport and communications complex – 11.1 percent, in the trade sphere – 9.4 percent, in the agricultural sphere – 5 percent and in the sphere of services – 9 percent.

The spheres of transport and communications completed the year of 2017 with the positive growth indicators. Reporting during the enlarged meeting of the cabinet of ministers of Turkmenistan, Vice Premier B. Annameredov noted that the services for cargo and passenger transportation were provided to the amount of 4.892 billion manat, the plan was fulfilled 103 percent, and the growth rate made up 105 percent.

In 2017, the revenues of the State budget of Turkmenistan made up 101.8 percent and the expenditures of the State budget - 96.4 percent. The wage, pension, state benefit payments and scholarship, had been financed in a proper and timely manner.

At the expanded meeting of the Government, held on January 26, the results of the national contest for the title of the best etrap of Turkmenistan were announced. When summarizing the results of the contest, a special commission headed by the National Center of Trade Unions took into account such indicators as the successful implementation of the national rural program, the fulfillment of contractual obligations to collect grain and cotton, and the commissioning of social and cultural facilities.

According to the instruction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the delegation of Turkmenistan made working trip the capital of Great Britain for expansion of bilateral cooperation, search for new forms of collaboration with traditional partners and making of business contacts with the companies trying to enter perspective Turkmen market.
