According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, voting is held at the polling stations at diplomatic missions and consular offices of Turkmenistan in foreign countries at the high organizational level, with great activity of voters.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis of the VI convocation and Halk Maslahaty members.

The elections of Mejlis deputies (the sixth convocation), Khalk Maslakhaty and Gengesh members are now well underway in Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held regular session of the Cabinet of Ministers where topical issues of the state life have been discussed.

Addressing the members of the Government at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers on March 24, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the elections of the deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, members of velayat, etrap and city People’s councils and gengeshys.

During the session of the Government on March 24, Vice-premier, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov informed on the preparation of the official visit of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hasan Rouhani to Turkmenistan on March 27 – 28.

By Decree of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Toyly Komekov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Turkmenistan is about to make new important step toward the consolidation of democratic principles in Turkmen society, further development of primordial traditions of people’s power, which Turkmen nation followed throughout the millenniums and which triumphs in new historical age. On March 25, all polling stations will open its doors for Turkmen citizens who will have to use their constitutional right and serve their civic duty electing the most deserving representatives to the Mejlis, representative bodies of local executive power and administration.

The Central Election Committee held the meeting with Chairman of the Executive Committee, the Commonwealth of Independent States Executive Secretary Sergey Lebedev, who is also the Head of the CIS Observers Mission for the elections of the Mejlis deputies. The guest was introduced with preparation work held by the Central Committee under current social and political campaign that is in the final stage at the moment.
