Turkmen – Qatar high-level negotiations were held in Doha. Emir of the State of Qatar Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held extended meeting with participation of official delegation of two countries and then had one-on-one conversation.

One of the key areas of the Turkmen-Qatar relations is cooperation in the field of transport, in particular, the development of sea and air communications, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov outlined.

By the opinion of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the expansion of trade and economic relations will give an impulse to activation of beneficial partnership. In his speech at the talks in Doha, the Head of the State spoke for increase of trade turnover and services volumes between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar, establishment of direct contacts between economic partners between two countries.

Speaking in Doha before governmental delegations of the two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that he considers this visit to be an event that will give a powerful impetus to the development of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar.

Upon arrival to Doha International Airport, decorated with the Flags of two countries, the Government officials greeted the President of Turkmenistan at the gangway of the plane.

On March 15, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov is conducting an official visit to the State of Qatar. At the Cabinet session (on March 10), the head of state highlighted the importance of the Turkmen-Qatari summit talks and noted that our country is seeking to promote the multi-aspect cooperation with considerable potential.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held the video selector working meeting in which issues of social and economic development of the country, the course of seasonal agricultural activities, issues of preparation for significant dates and conduction of the nationwide tree planting action were considered.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, which considered priority issues of state life and drafted of a number of documents.

A state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar is scheduled for March 15-16. There is a solid potential and opportunities for building up mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, intensifying humanitarian contacts and traditional cultural ties aimed at strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples in every possible way.

At today's meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the President of Turkmenistan ordered to start compiling a catalog of thoroughbred Akhal-Teke horses - a detailed register of the most prominent representatives of the elite of the world horse breeding, indicating their achievements, origin and other information. The Akhaltekeans, whose homeland is Turkmenistan, is one of the oldest and most beautiful breeds of riding horses.
