Turkmen athletes have won three prizes including one silver and two bronze medals during the international track-and-field tournament held recently in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Our compatriots were successful in the hammer throwing and 4x400 meter relay.

3 gold and 2 silver medals were secured in the U10 juniors group by the Turkmen athlete, Dominica Reimer, during the 14th International Artistic Gymnastics Tournament, Singapore Open, that had gathered about 100 participants from over 20 countries.

The National Boxing Championship started in Ashgabat that has brought together about 120 participants from all regions. The world-famous boxer Konstantin Tszyu came to our capital at the invitation of the National Boxing Federation to address the Turkmen boxers: “If the athlete has set a goal, he must make maximum efforts towards achieving it, K. Tszyu says, and the goal should be to gain maximum - no less than a victory in the championship of the planet”.

During the Asian Junior Wrestling Championship in Chinese Taipei that started today, Seydulla Tazaev of Turkmenistan won a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 60 kg.

Today the administrative center of the northern region of our country the city of Dashoguz hosted the match of the third round of the qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2019 between the national teams of Turkmenistan and Bahrain. In the course of a tense competition, the hosts lost the game with the score 1:2.

As part of preparation for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, on June 1-4 the Japanese city of Kobe hosted international futsal competitions in “A” group “Futzal Kobe Festa 2017”, where the national team of Turkmenistan won the second place.

The vertical kilometer ascent to the summit of the Great Balkhan Range, Mt. Arlan, in Balkan velayat is this year’s second round of Turkmenistan Skyrunning Cup series. The races are organized by the mountain climbing clubs, Agama and Mert, under the auspices of the State Sport Committee of Turkmenistan.

In the capital of Azerbaijan, the Baku Olympic Stadium hosted the closing ceremony of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games. Complex competitions in 20 events brought together more than 3,000 athletes from 57 states. At these games, the Turkmen athletes won 13 medals (two gold, four silver, seven bronze), that secured them the 15th place in the team standings.

The collection of Turkmenistan team was supplemented with another bronze medal at the IV Islamic Solidarity Games in the capital of Azerbaijan. It was won by Ahhageldy Agamyradov in wushu competitions in the weight category up to 56 kg.

Having successfully group stage, women basketball team met the team from Syria in quarterfinal. The main time ended in a draw. After one minute in additional time, Turkmenistan team to take advantage with 16:14 score. Ayna Gokova, the most efficient player of the team with 10 points, was an author of the winning ball.
