On November 3, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on a working trip around the capital got acquainted with the situation in the Olympic Stadium, which less than in a year will be the main venue for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

Football players of the capital’s “Altyn asyr” team won the Championship of Turkmenistan. The team of the Ministry of Communications achieved this success earlier, five rounds before the championship’s end, after its closest opponent “Balkan” team missed points in the capital’s match against the “Ashgabat” – 2:2, and “Altyn asyr” outplayed “Shagadam” in the away game - 2:1.

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, hosted an international seminar on organization and holding of various ice hockey tournaments and the jury’s work. Two Turkmen experts Allaberdi Mammetkuliev and Mamed Mamedov took part in this training. They successfully passed the exams and were awarded the 2nd degree certificates of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).

Turkmen players won two medals (gold and silver) in the World Chess Championship among cadets in Batumi, Georgia. The success was achieved by members of our team Shageldi Gurbandurdyev (first place) and Lala Shohradova (second place). Both of them study at comprehensive school №8 in Garashsyzlyk etrap of Lebap velayat.

On October 30, Turkmen wrestlers won 36 medals at the XIV Classical Belt Wrestling World Cup and the III Goresh World Championship in Naberezhnye Chelny (the Russian Federation). Moreover, in the second wrestling style competition our nationals won first place in the team event, having taken 12 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze medals.

On October 28, football players of “Altyn Asyr” Football Club (Ashgabat) retained their title as Turkmenistan Football Cup winners, beating «Ashgabat» with the score 4:0.

The Turkmen delegation consisting of representatives of the Executive Committee on Preparation for the Asian Games-2017 and the State Committee on Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography took part in the 53rd General Assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) on the Island of Bali, Indonesia.

On October 28, the nation’s Leader Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov attended festivities held at the International Akhalteke Equestrian Complex on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence.

Winners and prize-winners of the tournament of Open Cup on kabaddi among Juniors of Balkan velayat were determined. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence. The grand prize was won by the hosts, “Bars” team, that confidently beat in the final the athletes from Ashgabat with a score of 76:19.

The European Martial Arts Center in the city of Uden (the Netherlands) hosted an international Han Mu Do seminar, which was attended by Honored Trainer of Turkmenistan Orif Bukharakov. Our compatriot was the only instructor from the CIS countries to receive an invitation to the training event and a promotion examination (to be awarded the next higher dan – a rank of proficiency in martial arts).
