Economic forum of the UN Special Programme for Economies of Central Asia under subject “Interrelations: Facilitation of trade and transport procedures and sustainable development in the SPECA sub-region” has started in the Yildyz Hotel of the capital.

The headquarters of the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk hosted a round table meeting “On Strategic Economic Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States” on November 19. The meeting was initiated by the Turkmen side.

The forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held working session with the management of oil and gas complex where improvement of activity of this sphere and enhancement of its efficiency have been discussed.

The grand opening of the III International Theatre Festival took place in Ashgabat. The festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, brought together 14 theatre groups representing 12 states, including Afghanistan, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, the United States of America, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Estonia. Our country is represented by drama groups of leading theatres.

14th session of the SPECA Work Group on trade, which was organized by the Government of Turkmenistan together with the UN European Economic Commission, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asian Pacific (ESCAP) was held under the Days of SPECA.

The Days of SPECA have started in the capital under the chairing of Turkmenistan in the UN Special Programme for Economies of Central Asia. High-level round-table meeting on trade policy initiated by our country and sessions of working groups for sustainable transport and trade were the main events of the day.

“We are happy to greet you at the festival of the world best works of theatrical art held on the hospitable Turkmen land,” says President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressing participants of the III International Theatre Festival in Ashgabat.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held video conference working session with participation of the hyakims of the velayats and Ashgabat. The agenda included issues of social and economic development and seasonal agricultural works.

Mission of International Monetary Fund led by Mrs Natalia Tamiris has been on a working visit in Ashgabat on November 5 – 12. The goal of the visit of the delegation of specialized United Nations institution is to assess current macroeconomic and financial situation in Turkmenistan, to discuss economic challenges and develop recommendations for development of international cooperation in monetary and financial sphere.
