President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan on 8-9 August of this year. The issues related to the visit were discussed at the government session.

President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the Chairman of the Union of Chambers and Exchanges of the Republic of Turkey Rifat Hisarjyklyoglu.

In a letter, addressed to President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in expressed his appreciation for congratulations on his election as the head of state.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov sent deep condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani in connection with the terrorist act in Herat city, which resulted in numerous human casualties and injuries.

President of Turkmenistan, Supreme-Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov called an after-midnight alert for some troops to assess their military proficiency, and convened an out-of-office State Security Council meeting to sum up the outcomes of the running year’s seven-month activities of military and law-enforcement agencies.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held video conference working session with participation of hyakims of the regions and the capital. The subjects of the agenda included the solution of specific objectives of social and economic development of the cities and regions as well as situation in agricultural branch.

The United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres sent the letter to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressing the gratitude for warm welcome and hospitality given during his visit to Ashgabat.

Briefing on the occasion of 50 days before the start of the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan was held in the capital of the People's Republic of China. The event was attended by representatives of China's leading media, including the International TV Channel ""SSTW Russian"", the International Radio of China, the daily People's newspaper (""People's Daily Online""), ""Xinhua"" News Agency, ""China"" magazine, Lookwee , ""Vitva"" (VITVO), employees of press services of diplomatic missions accredited to the PRC, public circles, as well as Turkmen students studying in Beijing universities.

Upon arrival from Avaza National Tourist zone, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held offsite session of the Cabinet of Ministers at International Airport of the capital. The main subjects of the discussion were the key directions of social and economic development of the country, preparation issues of Ashgabat 2017 Games as well as planned sports and mass public events in the capital on July 29 on occasion of 50-day countdown until coming continental competitions in the capital.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov has sent his deepest condolences to President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the loss of life and injuries in the terrorist attack in the city of Lahore.
