On October 2, 2017, by invitation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, an official visit to Turkmenistan of the President of the Russian Federation will start. Turkmenistan and Russia adhere to the similar positions on such key issues of the global agenda, as preservation and maintenance of the universal peace and stability, counteraction against the threats of international terrorism, disarmament-favored problematics, and settlement of the situation in Afghanistan. Both countries actively interact in a broad range of directions, including the trade-economic sphere, energy and transport-communications sectors, as well as in the issues of agri-industrial sector. Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation attach particular significance to furthering the traditional humanitarian contacts, including in the sphere of education, science and applied researches, culture and creative exchanges. By results of the top-level negotiations, signing is projected of a solid package of bilateral documents aimed at further intensification and expansion of the mutuality-based partnership in its priority directions.
