At an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on July 7th, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a speech in which he summarized the results of the first half of the year.

According to the Decree of the Head of State, from January 1st, 2018, the salaries of employees of budgetary institutions, self-supporting enterprises and public organizations, as well as pensions and state allowances, and scholarships for students and trainees, will be increased by 10 percent.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the decree, in accordance with which, in order to actively involve the elders in resolving urgent issues of state life, using their rich life experience in educating the younger generation and strengthening the unity of the people, the next regular meeting of the Council of Elder will be convened on October 9th, 2017 in the Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat.

In accordance with President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov's decrees, Ashyr Myradovich Garayev was appointed Chairman of the National Space Agency under the President of Turkmenistan; Gochmyrat Ashyrmuhammedovich Myradov- Minister of Finance of Turkmenistan; Allaberdy Ashirov - Rector of the Institute of Public Utilities of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan was visited by 248 foreign delegations in the first half of 2017. This was stated at the extended meeting of the government by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan R. Meredov.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has visited the Ministry of Textile Industry where he inspected the work under preparation to V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games.

President of Turkmenistan, Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a meeting of the State Security Council. The agenda included the discussion of work results accomplished by subordinate military and law-enforcement bodies over the first half of 2017. Among the considered issues – enhancing security and peace in the independent state, further strengthening of the force structure’s material-technical base. The meeting identified priority tasks for the near-term outlook, and selected practical steps to facilitate their effective solution.
