The Central Committee for Elections and Referendums (CEC) in Turkmenistan announced the outcomes of elections to Geneshi and Mejli in the two electoral districts, which were held on August 16 on the wide alternative basis in the atmosphere of openness and publicity.

On August 14, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov convened an enlarged session of the Cabinet of Ministers to sum up the current year’s seven-month state-of-the-economy results. Khyakims of velayats, representatives of Mejlis, rectors of higher educational institutions, editors of newspapers and magazines, and heads of other institutions took part in the session. The agenda of session included also the personnel issues and work statements of government officials.

On August 13, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received Vice-President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Mr. Wencai Zhang.

On August 12, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received a newly-designated Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Mr. Mustafa Kapucu, who presented credentials to the head of Turkmen state.

On August 11, President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov took part in opening of a new complex of buildings of Tagtabazar border detachment and special-purpose regimen of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan, as well as familiarized with the socio-economic activities carried out in the region.

On August 10, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov held a regular working video-selector meeting with the participation of khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city, as well as heads of several ministries. The agenda of the meeting included discussions of the priorities of the country’s socio-economic development, including those associated with the implementation of the National Rural Development Program, as well as other issues of public life.

On August 9, while visiting “Archman” sanatorium, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov got acquainted with some new social construction objects, including the sanatorium’s infrastructure facilities. In the sanatorium, the head of state accepted congratulations from his associates on the occasion of Turkmen Melon Day.

On August 7, in the course of the second – final day of his working visit to the Republic of Turkey, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Last week, in the Ministry of Oil-Gas Industry and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan, in the frames of the 22nd meeting of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India Gas Pipeline Project Steering Committee, “Turkmengaz” State Concern was unanimously elected the leader of “TAPI Ltd.” Consortium.

On August 6, while on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedovg received Chairman of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Exchanges of Turkey Mustafa Rifat Hisarcıklioğlu. The meeting was held in the luxury hotel “Ciragan Palace” - the state guest residence of the Turkmen leader.
