On August 24, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov conducted a regular working meeting in the videoconferencing format with participation of some Deputies Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat city, as well as the heads of a number of other structures. The videoconferencing was focused on the priority tasks of socio-economic development of the country including those which are connected with realization of the National Redevelopment Program, on the preparation measures for worthy celebration of significant dates, and other important issues of state life.

On August 22, the Turkmen capital hosted the “Alfa-Romeo-2015” Cup event with participation of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

On August 21, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov conducted a regular Cabinet session to consider some draft documents and discuss the topical issues of state life.

On August 20, in the Turkmen capital, the talks were held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon who arrived in our country on an official visit the day before.

Last week, the Turkmen capital hosted a regular (11th ) meeting of the joint Turkmen-Uzbek Committee for trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation, in which heads and representatives of a number of state institutions, including sectoral ministries and departments of the two countries, took part.

A regular (9th) session of the fifth convocation of Mejlis of Turkmenistan was attended by the Mejlis deputies, representatives of the relevant ministries and departments, as well as mass media.

On August 18, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the UN Under-Secretary General, Executive Director of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) Mr. Babatunde Osotimehin who arrived on a visit to our country.

On the week bygone, on behalf of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A.Nurberdiyeva received the credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan to Turkmenistan Mr. Mohammed Elias Muhamed Elhaj.

On August 17, President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel Mr. Yitzhak Carmel Kagan who presented credentials to the head of the Turkmen state.

On August 16, in all regions of the country, the elections to Gengeshi and Mejlis in the two electoral districts - № 7 “Gunesh” and № 8 “Dostluk” of Ashgabat city - took place.
