President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Ahalteke Equestrian Complex and devoted his time to the issues of development of national horse-breeding, promotion of mass sports and preparation for the upcoming major sporting events.

President of Turkmenistan signed a Resolution authorizing the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry to sign a contract with Turkish company Gap İnşaat, Yatırım ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş. to design and build in Ashgabat the International Burn Treatment Center for 130 beds; provide modern medical technology, spare parts and consumables; train specialists and improve the surrounding territory.

In the administrative center of Vekilbazar etrap, in the atmosphere of great celebration, in the Culture Center, surrounded by white yurts set, there were preparing the festive meal, it was held a ceremony of presenting the deserved award – 1 million US dollars to this etrap, that became the winner of the contest for the country’s best etrap.

Turkmenistan is preparing for the elections of Mejlis deputies of the sixth convocation, members of the khalk maslakhaty and Gengeshi, scheduled on March 25. The coming elections will be another step to improve further the multilevel system of genuine sovereignty, based on native national and democratic traditions.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Balkan Velayat, flew by helicopter over the Avaza national tourism zone to see the progress in implementing the projects on the beautification and development of infrastructure in the seaside resort.

Ashgabat’s Ýyldyz Hotel has hosted a Board meeting of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), co-organized by the IFAS Executive Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the Transboundary Water Management in Central Asia Program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia.

The Turkmen National Institute for Democracy and Human Rights under the President of Turkmenistan hosted a regular meeting of the Inter-ministerial Commission on Ensuring Turkmenistan’s Compliance with International Obligations in the Field of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law that was attended by representatives of the country’s National Parliament, several ministries, sectoral agencies and public organizations. The meeting reviewed the results of the Commission’s work in 2017 and discussed the issues related to the main fields of its activity.

President of Turkmenistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the country, doctor of medicine and economy, Professor Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in General Assembly of the representatives of national science. The agenda included the subject of the election of the leaders of the Academy of Sciences as well as discussion of the direction of further development of national science in the context of the realization of strategic governmental programmes.

A meeting of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda in Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat on preparations for the election of the deputies of sixth convocation of the Mejlis and velayat, etrap and city Halk Maslahaty and Gengesh members.
