Ashgabat hosted two-day seminar “Topical Aspects of the Improvement of the Legislation in Mass Media” organized by the OSCE Centre.

In total, two deputies of the Mejlis, 41 members of the Halk Maslahaty and 134 members of the Gengeshes are to be elected for Turkmenistan. In this regard, 177 districts and 255 polling stations operate.

Today, independent neutral Turkmenistan is celebrating one of the most important dates on the national calendar – Constitution and Magtymguly Fragi’s Poetry Day. The national holiday, which symbolically links the adoption of the country’s Constitution and celebration in honor of the great poet and thinker, represents the continuity of spiritual and democratic experience of the Turkmen nation, and glorifies the national unity and concord.

In Turkmenistan, the work is underway to draft a new version of the Law “On Countering Corruption”. This was reported at a joint session of the Cabinet and the State Security Council by Security Council Secretary, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Ya.Berdiyev.

The “Dayanch” Children’s Sanatorium of the National Center of trade unions in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, where, as it was previously reported, on May 15, children from different regions of neighboring Uzbekistan arrived at the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov for 10-day-long recreation, hosted sports and creative contests.

The solemn opening of the kindergarten ""Dostluk"" was held in Cișmichioi village of Vulcănești district of Gagauzia Autonomous Territorial Unit (ATU) of the Republic of Moldova, which was built on the initiative of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov as a gift to the brotherly people.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Constitution of Turkmenistan - the legal framework for development” was held in a conference hall of the Turkmen State University named after Mahtumkuli, timed to the significant date - 25th anniversary of adopting the country’s Main Law and the Mahtumkuli Fragi’s Poetry Day.

Ashgabat has hosted the 20th Conference of the Humanitarian Association of the World’s Ethnic Turkmens. Timed to coincide with the national holiday – Constitution and Magtymguly Fragi’s Poetry Day, the forum was attended by representatives of the Turkmen diasporas from different countries, and delegates from all parts of our country. Prior to the conference, participants laid flowers at the Constitution Monument.

At the international airport of the seaside city of Turkmenbashi a grand welcome ceremony for a large group of children who have arrived from the Republic of Uzbekistan for holidays in Avaza national tourist zone, took place.

The National Parliament of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting to discuss tasks set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at the session of the Cabinet of Ministers that took place on 12 May, specifically those targeted at fighting corruption and bribery. The meeting was attended by the members of the National Parliament; Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers; Secretary of the State Security Council; heads of provincial administrations and mayor of Ashgabat.
