Ashgabat Hotel hosted New Year celebration event organized by the Hyakimlyk of the capital for children. Interesting cultural programme has been prepared for children. Popular singers, theatre artists, dance bands gave happy mood as a present to young Turkmenistan citizens.

Opening ceremony of winter schools holidays was held at the square of the Children and Youth Palace of the capital. After the ceremony, school students from all velayats went for holidays to recreation centres of Gyokdere. More than 7,000 students will have holidays in 14 facilities. 1,500 young Turkmenistan citizens will spend their winter holidays in 5recreational centres of the velayats of the country.

Following in a fine tradition, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry has hosted a festive celebration, at which children, living and studying at the Döwletliler Köşgi Palace, received New Year gifts from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The capital square of the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre with the main New Year tree of the country traditionally became the centre of New Year celebrations.

Russian spaceman, Hero of the Russian Federation and Chevalier of the order of Turkmenistan «Prezidentiň Ýyldyzy», a native of Turkmenistan Oleg Kononenko, who at present leads the mission at the International Space Station addressed President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited New Year celebration at the main New Year tree of the country, having shared the joy with young participants of celebration event on the square in front of the Älem Cultural and Entertainment Centre.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov took part in the event dedicated to New Year organized in Mizan Centre.

Outlining directions and priorities of social and economic development of Turkmenistan in near future, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted innovative sphere, which has to become the drive engine of the growth of all branches of the country. science and education as well as international cooperation are the source of innovations not only in the aspect of the attraction of technologies but also in the improvement of potential of national scientific and educational system.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the flower-laying ceremony at the S.A.Niyazov Monument at the capital’s 10 Years of Independence Park to pay tribute to the first President of Turkmenistan.

The 11th volume of the selected works, “Towards New Heights of Progress”, has come out. Published in the Turkmen, English and Russian languages, the book contains a selection of keynote addresses, speeches, articles, interviews and welcoming addresses delivered by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in 2017.
