Our sportsmen have made great success in the 8th International Martial Arts (Wushu) tournament held recently in the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi: eight medals (three – gold; two –silver; and three –bronze) have been added to the sports “medal box” of Turkmenistan.

And again Turkmen nationals scored a success in the international traditional karate competitions. This time, our countrymen distinguished themselves in the Prague Open Cup recently held in the capital of Czech Republic. The national team won 27 medals: 11 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze ones.

It became clear in the course of Asia (Central Asian zone), which was held in the capital of Tajikistan – Dushanbe, where our compatriot, international master Yusup Atabayev won the second place and gained the right of participation in the world championship to be held in September of current year in Baku (Azerbaijan).

Turkmen sportsmen were a great success at the two Asian Junior Championships – in boxing and Greco-Roman wrestling. In total, six medals - one silver and five bronze, replenished the “piggy bank” of Turkmenistan’s sport achievements.

Such solution was adopted during the areal Championship of Asia (Central Asian area) which Tajikistan has recently hosted in its capital city – Dushanbe.

International Equestrian Complex of “Turkmen atlary” State Association was awarded with International Prize “Best enterprise in the field of intellectual property”. Founder of this prestigious award is the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) – intergovernmental specialized organization of system of the United Nations Organization, engaging in administration of a series of key international conventions in the field of intellectual property. Turkmenistan is the member of WIPO since 1995.

Last week, the footballers of Turkmenistan’s national team of Turkmenistan ended 1:1 the match with the team of Iran at the stadium in the administrate centre of the northern region of the country within the framework of the World Championship-2018 qualifying match.

The International Equestrian Sports Center of State Association «Turkmen Atlary» is awarded the International Prize - «The best enterprise in the field of intellectual property».

Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship of Asia among cadets born in 1998-2000, which took place in New Delhi with participation of hundreds of sportsmen from 18 countries, brought to Turkmen team four bronze medals. Three of them belong to the representatives of Ashgabat classic wrestling school: Resul Biramov (coach Nepes Gukulov) in the category up to 46 kg; Seydulla Tazayev (tutor Aman Geldiyev) – in weight up to 58 kg, and pupil of the Honored Coach of Turkmenistan Gasan Rasulov – Arslan Kuliyev in the category up to 85 kg.
