President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended the celebration of the upcoming New Year organized at Mizan Business Center. Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chair of the National Parliament, heads of military and law enforcement authorities, ministries and sectoral agencies, public organizations and diplomatic missions and representatives accredited in Turkmenistan, our country’s ambassadors accredited abroad, prominent cultural figures and masters of art etc. gathered here. The head of state extended his warm and cordial greetings on the occasion of the upcoming New Year, and noted that the passing year 2017 has become a time of great achievements, a vivid evidence of Turkmenistan’s successful transformational strategy and foreign policy course aimed at expanding the international cooperation for the sake of peace and progress. The President of the country wished the attendees happiness, family wellbeing and great success in their work. The guests of the festive celebration expressed to the head of state their New Year’s greetings and wishes for health, long life and success in all his noble endeavors. Today, under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, reforms are ongoing in every field of the national economic complex; progressive development of production and social infrastructure continues. As a peaceful nation, Turkmenistan seeks to build relations with the countries of the world on the basis of mutual respect, remaining committed to pursuing the policy of positive neutrality on the global arena. As is known, the status of permanent neutrality mandated to Turkmenistan by the Community of Nations, was validated by relevant Resolutions of the UN General Assembly. As of today, Turkmenistan is the only country that has reflected these resolutions of the global community in its Fundamental Law. Attaching utmost importance to these historical documents, Turkmenistan has clearly outlined the key provisions of the status of permanent neutrality in the Constitution of the country. This international legal status is the underlying doctrine of the domestic and foreign policy of our independent nation. Following the main principles of positive neutrality, Turkmenistan implements the foreign policy strategy for the benefit of the peoples of the planet. The UN General Assembly’s proclaiming 12 December as International Neutrality Day, upon the initiative by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, is a landmark fact. As stressed by attendees, the passing year was marked with grandiose success in political, economic and cultural life of the country, and became especially significant for Turkmenistan that is confidently following the path of peace, creation and progress under the presidency of its national leader. The celebration at Mizan Business Center included a bright New Year’s performance by masters of art.
