Early in the morning, the aircraft of Turkmenistan Airlines OJSC Boeing 737 – 800 that made first flight Ashgabat – Frankfurt – Erevan Ashgabat landed in International Airport of Turkmen capital. This international flight was added to the schedule of Türkmenhowaýollary Service before New Year and was a good celebration present for the travellers and businessmen. The opportunities of opening of direct flight from Ashgabat to Erevan was mentioned during official visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Armenia in august of this year. In September of this year, the trial flight of the Boeing bearing the symbol of the falcon was made from Turkmen to Armenian capital and now regular flight between two cities extended to Frankfurt, Germany has started. According to the tradition and to mark the safety of the flights, the aircraft that arrived in Zvartnotz Erevan Airport with 160 passengers onboard taxied under symbolical water arch and Turkmen delegation was welcomed with “bread and salt” by the aviation authorities of Armenia. Head of the General Department of Civil Aviation of the Government of the Republic of Armenia Sergey Avetisyan congratulated the colleagues on the opening of the flight and noted the necessity of this route. The flights will be made once a week on Wednesdays. However, the sides consider that the frequency might be increased with the requirements. After the opening of Ashgabat – Erevan – Frankfurt – Erevan – Ashgabat flight, Turkmenistan national carrier increased its transport and transit potential in Caucasus region and West Europe directions. The formation of ramified network is continued and soon will include new regional and interregional directions. Following the orders of Head of the State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan airlines systematically expands the geography of international flights that support building the bridges of friendship and good neighbourhood relations with all interested states of the world efficiently using steadfast modernization of the civil aviation fleet by delivery of new aviation equipment from the famous world producers.
