Scientific and Clinical Centre of Mother and Child Health held 4-day seminar “Early Child Development and Early Intervention”, which was organized by the Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry. Expert of the World Health Organization, Turkmen medics, practicing paediatricians and scientists specialized in this sphere took part in the forum. The system of early intervention includes multi-dimensional process stating from the detection of malfunctions or delay in the development of the child in the first months and years of life, interdisciplinary assessment up to correction therapy and support. At present time, it is widely spoken of prenatal diagnostics as of mandatory element of the programmes of early intervention as earlier the help is rendered, the more efficient it is. Forestalling the seminar, round table session with the specialists of the WHO was held on the subjects of the formation of national platform of early intervention allowing detecting the problems of the development in early age was held in the conference hall of the UN Representative Office in Turkmenistan under targeted programme of the Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry carried out with the participation of the UNICEF. The results of work performed for the past period were reviewed, coming objectives including the implementation of new methods for care of children to detect the problems at early stage and help the parents to create optimum conditions for the child development, were outlined at the meeting. Heads of the Ministry of Health Protection and Medical Industry, specialists of “Ene Myahri” centre, Scientific and Clinical Centre for Mother and Child Health, Training and Scientific Centre of Mother and Child Health of the State Medical University and regional medical facilities took part in the session. During interested exchange of the opinions, the participants stated with delight fruitful character of cooperation for the health improvement of young generation and spoke for the continuation of future partnership. In the same time, the WHO specialists got familiar with the organization and implementation of the system of early child development and early intervention based on the samples of special cabinets in the medical facilities of Mary and Yoloten etrap. Here is what the WHO representative, Professor of Paediatrics of Ankara University Ilgi Ertem said in the interview: - This is my second visit to Turkmenistan. What I see here meeting and communicating with Turkmen colleagues and visiting different medical facilities, I can say about the attention on the Government level and personally by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov that is paid to health protection sphere, especially in mother and child health protection sphere. The work in this field is arranged on complex and systematic basis. Advanced centres that use modern diagnostic, treatment and prevention methods operate in the country. During our current visit, we have seen this on the example of Ashgabat Scientific and Clinical Centre for Mother and Child Health Protection and medical facilities in Mary Velayat.
