After offsite session of the State Security Council, on behalf of the heads of military and law enforcement agencies, Defence Minister Ya. Berdiyev presented sport bicycle to the President of Turkmenistan on occasion of the World health Day. Having sat on the bicycle, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov take a lead in the cycling, which route run along picturesque foothills of Kopetdag Mountains. As is known, the President has initiated the revival of cycling in the country, having given mass health improving character to this, which is indicated by the races organized regularly with the participation of thousands of Turkmen citizens. Recently, in the end of February, the Head of the State gave start to mass sport competitions “The Great Silk Road” in Turkmenabat, which include the cycling races along the routes of historical road. Such events are annually timed to the World Health Day widely observed in April. This is another measure aimed at active introduction of the principles of healthy life style in our society, popularization and development of physical training and sports. The Head of the State highlights that all work for physical education and development of sports in Turkmenistan have to be done based on integrated and systematic approach. Sports is an important factor of the consolidation of global peace, friendship relations and fruitful cooperation between the states and nations. While being invariably committed to humane ideals of the Olympic movement, neutral Turkmenistan stands for the improvement of regional and international partnership in sport sphere taking specific measures in this direction. Far-sighted policy realized in this sphere by the Head of the State brings the results - Turkmen sport enters quality new level, our country becomes the place of large sport competitions. For example, this year it will host international rally along the Silk Road “Amul – Hazar 2018” as well as World Powerlifting Championship and other competitions. Special attention to the sport by the Head of the State as to the best way to support the health of human being is always reflected in the steadfast social policy. Great attention is paid in Turkmenistan to the development of physical training and sports of high achievements. Together with other sport disciplines, great attention is paid to active use of such ecological transport as a bicycle. Mass cycling races and competitions are organized annually in all regions of the country by the initiative of the head of the State, which indicates its growing popularity. Cycling tracks are also built in new sport complexes. Along the way, the Head of the State focused the attention of the participants of the ride on picturesque view of this part of the nature where the beauty of the spring is felt in special way. Objectives of environmental protection and improvement of the wealth of unique by the beauty Turkmen land are among the priorities of the state strategy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Mass public tree planting events in all parts of the country make positive effect on the microclimate change, improvement of the conditions for life and ecological situation, the Head of the State noted, having highlighted the importance of the targeted measures in rational use of natural resources, protection of natural landscapes and reduction of the atmospheric pollution. Having pointed out the importance of the assertion of the principles of healthy and active life style, the Head of the State highlighted the necessity of actual measures for the involvement of all level of the populations, especially the youth, to mass physical training movement. Exceptional work in this direction supports the improvement of sport and health improving sphere, the accumulation of its potential, the formation of multifunctional infrastructure, what in its turn stipulates successful development of sports. Having finished the cycling, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished success in work to all the participants and left the place of event.
