A conference hall of Magtymguly Turkmen State University has hosted an awards ceremony for the winners of a contest for young scientists, co-organized by the Academy of Sciences and the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization. The scientific competition is open to young specialists of research institutes, production associations, scientific-technical enterprises, university teachers and students, students of vocational schools, and people with varied professional background, who are keenly interested in active scientific research. Every year the contest attracts more and more participants. This year more than one thousand young scientists have showcased their projects and theoretical research in the following fields of science: nanotechnology, biotechnology, computer technology, material development, energy, molecular biology, agriculture, ecology and genetics, information and communications systems, technologies for the manufacture of medicines and pharmaceutical products, innovation economy, and the humanities. While choosing the winners, an expert panel of judges assessed the presented projects on the extent to which they met the following criteria: their theoretical importance, scientific novelty value, worthiness for practical implementation and manufacturing application. Among those attending the ceremony were government members, senior officials of ministries and government agencies, higher education institutions, scientists, representatives of public organizations, university teaching staff and students, doctoral candidates and post-graduate students of the Academy of Sciences. Participants in the International Scientific Conference “Science, Engineering and Innovation Technology”, currently ongoing in the capital, were the guests of honor at the event. The attendees enthusiastically welcomed President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s Address to the winners of the scientific contest, which was read during the ceremony. On behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov the winners were awarded certificates of honor and valuable prizes. Turkmenistan boasts more than twenty higher education and research institutions that have everything necessary to offer top quality universal education, realize the potential of young scientists, ensure intensive exchange of information and establish close contacts with the world’s leading research and educational centers.
