Last week, the Turkmen-Austrian Business Forum was held in the Turkmen capital with participation of representatives of the two countries’ state and private enterprises. The forum centered on prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation, establishment of new contacts, and discussion of plans for further interaction. The forum participants have highlighted that main objectives of the forum are to familiarize with Turkmenistan’s economic potential, to strengthen and establish efficient long-term relations with representatives of the national economy’s non-state sector, as well as to present capabilities of more than 30 Austrian companies. While introducing to key areas of the national economy, representatives of the Turkmen side have underlined that under the guidance of the nation’s leader, our country successfully realizes a strategy, whose one of the most important vectors is expansion of international cooperation with all interested partners on the basis of equality. In this context, having confirmed their readiness to further advance the mutually beneficial partnership with representatives of foreign business circles, including those of the Republic of Austria, the speakers have noted that there are all conditions created in our country for successful development of business – the national legislation is being improved, investment activities are being promoted. Having emphasized the positive experience gained in foreign trade relations with the EU countries, including the Republic of Austria over recent years, forum participants have highlighted the availability of the most favorable conditions for the bilateral relations intensification in the economic, cultural-humanitarian and scientific-educational spheres. The guests were also informed in detail about the development of the Turkmen economy’s private sector - an important aspect of the state strategy of the leader of nation. The video film, devoted to Turkmenistan, demonstrated high dynamics of the comprehensive transformative processes ongoing in the country, as well as its enormous economic, cultural and natural potential. In their turn, members of the Austrian delegation expressed particular interest of Austria’s business circles in boosting the fruitful relations with Turkmenistan, which today demonstrates rapid paces of economic development. Speaking of their readiness to actively participate in realization of the large-scale national projects, representatives of Austrian companies set forward concrete proposals to further broaden the mutually beneficial cooperation in different areas. Within the framework of the business forum, bilateral meetings were held between ministries, departments, the Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Union of Turkmenistan and members of the Republic of Austria delegation.
