“Our country guarantees the social security for people, providing support and creating favourable conditions for free and happy life of each citizen. The main tasks set to the government authorities are to protect, support and serve the people”, says President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressing the judicial officers of Turkmenistan. “Executing justice, the judicial authorities of the country protect citizens’ rights and freedoms, state and public interests, protected by law. All judicial activity is oriented towards the law enforcement, justice and public order, address the causes and conditions that entail violation of a right or of a law. “The judicial service in each law-governed state plays an important role as an efficient mechanism that ensures the government protection, including all spheres of legal regulation. Guaranteeing law and order, the unity of economic space, property and non-property rights of people, the judicial system ensures the inviolability of foundations of the constitutional system and the freedom of business operations”, says the President in his address. “Article 1 of the Constitution of our country declares that Turkmenistan is a democratic, law-governed and secular state. A law-governed state is characterized by an independent judicial branch that ensures the reliable protection of people’s rights and freedoms, state and public interests based on law. “The government highly evaluates your good work on the successful implementation of the Presidential programmes, aimed at strengthening the economic power of the country, increasing the people’s standards of living, affirming the principles of justice in the society and consolidating legality and public order. “I strongly believe that in accordance with the Action plan on the implementation of the State Programme on the development of the judicial service in Turkmenistan in 2017-2021, improving the principles of justice, you will continue to ensure the highest level of openness and transparency of justice, the impartial and independent rendering of judicial decisions. Each judicial decree as a result of the responsible work of courts shall be subject to compulsory implementation on the territory of Turkmenistan. The accuracy and correctness of this process shall be fully justified and shall be found to conform to Law. “Conscientiously fulfilling their duties, judicial officers shall see far and wide, work hard, be high-minded, decent, shall have a very responsible approach towards the work, following our ancestors’ principles of justice and humanity, putting the law above anything else. “The government will continue taking care about strengthening the material and technical basis of judicial authorities, improving the social and living conditions of judicial officers and the members of their families, ensuring their social protection,” said the President of Turkmenistan.
