On March 8, the festivities were organized in the Turkmen capital, all cities and villages of the country to mark the remarkable spring holiday – International Women’s Day. They were devoted to dear, beloved and loving mothers, grandmothers, daughters and sisters. On the threshold of the holiday, solemn ceremonies were held countrywide in honor of the mothers of large families, who had been awarded the “Ene Myahri” honorary title in compliance with the Ukase of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as ceremonies of presenting money gifts on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to all women of the country – beginning with women working in enterprises and institutions, women in retirement and ending with schoolgirls and girl-pupils of the pre-school institutions. On March 7, on the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov, the Union of Women of Turkmenistan hosted a grand ceremony of honoring the mothers of large families and presenting state awards to women of the country for their creative labor at factories, in science, education, health care and fruitful work in the name of Motherland. That same day, some large families were presented with keys to new apartments in a 13-story residential building of improved accommodation. The mothers of large families, awarded the “Ene Myahri” honorary title, will have privileges and benefits. First and foremost, it is the title that matters – the highest mark of distinction, special recognition of merits of a mother for the society and state, an invaluable contribution of our outstanding women to progress and prosperity of the Motherland. The state concert of masters of culture and art, held in the “Maslahat Köşgi” Palace on March 7 was in honor of glorious daughters of the Motherland. To mark International Women’s Day, festive programs were organized in parks, on the best stages and concert platforms countrywide.
