Turkmenistan – Romania: Activation of partnership in educational sphere

Working visit of Turkmenistan delegation, which includes representative of the Ministry of Education and directors of the universities of our country, to Romania has become bright evidence of big potential for diversification and intensification of Turkmen – Romanian cooperation in trade and economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres especially in improvement of the efficiency of fruitful contacts in educational field. It was highlighted at the meetings with State Secretary of the Ministry of National Education of Romania Gidel Paraschiv and State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dana Nekulaesku that official visits of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Romania in 2011 and President Traian Băsescu to Turkmenistan in 2012 gave strong impulse to intensification of productive dialog. Package of documents signed at high-level talks has become solid base for development of bilateral partnership in ide spectrum of directions. The Agreement on Academic and Scientific Cooperation between the State Medical University of Turkmenistan and Carol Davila University of Medical Science and Pharmacy has been signed during current visit of Turkmen delegation. Delegation of our country made presentation of books of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Toward the Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan”, “Turkmenistan – the Heart of the Great Silk Road” and “Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan” with the participation of Turkmen students in Romania Diplomatic Institute. In addition, representatives of Turkmenistan took part in the session of National Council of Directors of Romanian Universities, during which number documents namely the Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management with the Brasov Transylvania University and Bucharest Economic Sciences University, the Agreement on Cooperation between Turkmen Agricultural University and Yassa University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, has also been signed. In addition, the Memorandum of Understanding between Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction and Bucharest Technical University of Civil Engineering has been signed. The members of the session expressed the confidence that activation of the contacts in educational sphere would be important input to traditional dialog of friendship and beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Romania and would be successfully developed filling with new content.
