The Embassy of Turkmenistan to the PRC made the presentation of the first Caspian economic forum, the Concept of the chairing of Turkmenistan in the CIS and the IFAS as well as the event on occasion of International Nowruz Day in the China University of Petroleum Beijing on March 18. More than 300 people including professors and tutors, Chinese and Turkmen students as well as public and mass media representatives took part in the event organized with the support of the directorate of the University. Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdiyev made a speech at the event, congratulated the participants on International Nowruz Day and told about the celebration traditions of the holiday in our country. The Head of Turkmen diplomatic mission highlighted in details international initiatives of Turkmen leader proposed from the tribune of the UN and aimed at the solution of current subjects of regional and global range of issues. Further, the Ambassador made the presentation of the first Caspian Economic Forum, which would be held in Avaza National tourist zone on August 12, 2019. It was mentioned that organization committee has been founded and the concept of the forum has been developed under its preparation and according to the Resolution of the Head of the State. The attention of the participants was also focused on the plans of the event at the fields of the meeting, which are aimed at the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation. Speaking of the aspects of the chairing of Turkmenistan in the CIS in 2019, the Ambassador noted that consolidation of the trust between the states, support of stability and security, strengthening of political and diplomatic collaboration, improvement of the level of cooperation of the CIS with international organizations including the UN and OSCE, formation of conditions for activation of trade, economic and humanitarian partnership under the Commonwealth are priority objectives. According to the diplomat, in the second year of its chairing, Turkmenistan intends to provide comprehensive support to activation of the cooperation of Aral Sea countries in improvement of social, economic and ecological situation in Aral region, rational use of water resources and natural protection as well as in the development of Central Asian water strategy as the basis for adoption of the UN Water Strategy. President of Chinese Petroleum University, Professor Zhang Laibin has also made a speech at the meeting and give high appraisal to the dynamics of Turkmen – Chinese cooperation, especially in scientific and educational sphere.
