As all around the world, the remarkable events, multiplying our unity and cohesion, are held in Turkmenistan on occasion of the World Health Day”, says President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory address. “Today, the healthy life style facilitates the achievement of great success in various spheres. On occasion of the international holiday, Ashgabat, velayat and etrap centres host cultural and sports events. “Concern about the health of people is a demanding challenge, and we, following today’s requirements on the development of the physical culture and the Olympic movement, pay particular importance to this task. In the framework of the national reformatory programmes, the large sports and equestrian complexes, stadiums and sports schools were erected in the regions in compliance with the high international standards. New sports complexes were built in the Avaza National tourism zone, the Olympic Village, the golf-club and the modern sports infrastructure were created in Ashgabat. “The specialized diagnostic and treatment medical centres, hospitals, sanatoriums were constructed in the context of the sustainable development of the state and society, the health care system with the aim to ensure the happy and prosperous life of the people. Moreover, we have accumulated rich experience in promoting healthy life style, strengthening peace and friendship, developing physical culture and popular sports. In the framework of the Programme of the social and economic development of the country in 2019-2025, we will create all necessary conditions for practicing sports on a regular basis”, says the President of Turkmenistan. “Our multifaceted achievements opened up new opportunities for us to rank among the states that host large sports events at the high organizational level. Turkmenistan puts forward and successfully implements peace-loving initiatives, paying particular attention to enhancing cooperation at the international level as well as in frames of the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia, the United Nations Office of Sport for Development and Peace, the UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sport, various international and interregional spots organizations. “The V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the Bike Ride and Cross Country along the route of the Great Silk Road, the International motor rally “Amul-Hazar 2018”, the World Weightlifting Championship, etched in gold in the history of sports, multiplied the international prestige of Turkmenistan. The date of June 3, declared by the United Nations as the International Bicycle Day, has marked a great triumph of the policy of our state in the sphere of sports”, emphasized the President of Turkmenistan in his congratulatory address.
