The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Istanbul has organized a football tournament among students, studying at universities in the Republic of Turkey. Timed to coincide with a month-long series of fitness activities and sporting events, traditionally organized in our country, the competitions celebrated this year’s slogan ‘Turkmenistan – the Land of Prosperity’. More than 100 students from Turkey’s universities took part in the football cup events. Divided into 12 teams, they vigorously competed to win the tournament. All winners and prizewinners received commemorative gifts. A lavish dastarkhan (a tablecloth or table) was laid out for the participants and guests to sample the best Turkmen dishes.
