President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan Matthew Steven Klimov who presented his credentials to the Head of the State. Having expressed sincere gratitude for spared time, the diplomat conveyed the greetings of USA President Donald Tramp who confirmed the interest in further development of interstate relations. Having returned best greetings to the leaders of USA, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that neutral Turkmenistan also pays great attention to friendly and respectful dialog with the United States of America. Having congratulated Matthew Steven Klimov on the appointment to responsible diplomatic post, the Head of the State wished him success in his activity on strengthening of Turkmen – American cooperation, which is developed steadily in bilateral and multilateral formats. Continuing the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and American diplomat exchanged the views on condition and perspectives of interstate collaboration. It has been mentioned during the conversation that steadfast dynamics is inherent to business structures activity. In this case, actual role is given to Turkmenistan – USA Business Council, which work is to support directly to expansion and diversification of beneficial trade and economic relations, stimulation of investment activity and implementation of significant potential of productive cooperation. In this aspect, old partnership between our country and famous American companies, which demonstrate the intent to improve their positions in perspective Turkmen market and to participate in implementation of new projects in various spheres, has been brought as example. At the same time, great attention is paid invariably to fruitful humanitarian contacts including in education, science and culture. Partnership in provision of peace, regional and global security, counteracting against modern challenges and threats is an integral aspect of interstate relations. In this context, the role of peaceful policy pursued by neutral Turkmenistan, which is an important factor of strengthening of stability and creation of conditions for sustainable development in Central Asia as well as importance of the initiatives of Turkmen leaders in energy security, international cooperation in transport and communication section and other actual spheres have been highlighted. At the same time, significant contribution of our country to peaceful regulation of the situation in Afghanistan and to social and economic restoration of the neighbouring state, which is implemented in specific infrastructural projects such as construction of transnational TAPI gas line, has been noted. At the end of the meeting, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of USA Matthew Steven Klimov expressed the confidence that Turkmen – American relations would be successfully developed in future.
