On instruction of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco, Abdeljalil Saubry. On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, the head of the national Parliament congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment to the post and wished him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two states. Thanking for the kind wishes, the diplomat conveyed the greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen people from the leaders of his state. According to the diplomat, Morocco highly evaluates and supports the active peace-loving policy, pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, the initiatives, put forward by the Turkmen leader with the aim to ensure the sustainable development and address the global energy and environment projects. Turkmenistan’s efforts on creation of international transport corridors, the importance of which is confirmed by the experience of the Kingdom of Morocco as one of the logistics centres of the African continent, are highly appreciated. The prospects for developing partnership between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Morocco in line with the expanding relations of our country with the African Union, the states of North and West Africa were underlined during the meeting. Transport, sea transportation, tourism were specified among the priority areas of cooperation. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of intensifying the Turkmen-Moroccan dialogue both in a bilateral format and within the framework of authoritative international organizations, primarily the UN. The diplomat was acquainted with the structure and directions of legislative activity of the Mejlis. In this regard, the prospects for inter-parliamentary interaction were discussed. At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador of Morocco emphasized that it is honour for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan, which has achieved impressive success in political, socio-economic and cultural development.
